Plector: Punishment day
17/01/13 || Averatu
“Punishment day” is an up beat groove-meets-death-metal album. I was very much reminded of Pantera, and to a lesser extent “Beg to differ” era Prong, which would be mid 90’s thrash. I would want to recommend the album, as its brilliantly executed and the songs ae well written and really catchy, and have been enjoying it a lot. But. Play tracks 5, 6, 7 to any Pantera fan, and you’d have immediate answers to which songs they resemble. The biggest deviation is that the drumming incorporates a fair amount of blasting. The guitar solo’s, excellent as they are, are straight Dime, at least as far as I can tell.
6/10: I’d like to hear Plector do an album of Plector songs.
Update: When I logged onto Metal Archives to get the album cover before publishing this review, I noticed their status has been changed to ‘split up’. Seriously, fuck you guys, what a waste of my time!!!
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
